About the Clerk

I began my work experience early, around the age of fourteen, as a teenager helping at my family's business, a full-service gas station. Working with the public and alongside my family taught me the basics of good business: have a strong work ethic, be honest and treat all customers fairly. The customer should leave feeling well served.

The duties of a public official also depend on similar basics: diligence, ethical behavior, lawful conduct, providing accurate records, treating all people with fairness and dignity, and being a public servant to the citizens of Henry County.

From my teenage years assisting customers at my family's business, I went on to enjoy a wide range of career experiences including correctional software applications, the county's first 911 director, sales and corporate banking. All of these opportunities combined made for a great background to deal with the diversity that a Clerk of Court encounters.

Besides my career life, I am married and have a wonderful wife and family. Recently we were blessed with our first grandchild, born in May, 2013. I spend most of my free time involved in community, church and school activities, playing with my grandchild and enjoying life with my eleven year old nephew who lives in my care.

In 2010, I was elected Circuit Court Clerk and am now very excited to manage the Circuit, General Sessions and Juvenile Court Clerk's Offices with the assistance of nine very talented and dedicated deputy clerks.

My focus is being customer centered, solving problems and operating my offices efficiently, ethically, and in the best interest of the public. Should you ever find yourself in need of our services, please come and speak with me or one of my deputy clerks. We are here to serve.

I hope you find this website to be a helpful and friendly resource.
